Until recently, during construction, four types of foundations were mainly used — strip, slab, columnar and pile, of which the first species was considered the most common, since it can be laid slightly below the level of freezing of the soil, but such structures are 45 % more expensive than the Finnish Building with a pile — a grillage type of foundation. Therefore, this type of foundation has gained great popularity, since non -removable formwork is used during its construction.
